Sunatimes.com - Earlier this evening (December 8.2018), an armoured black Toyota land Cruiser was dispatched from the Headquarters of National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) by Fahad Yasin's orders, the de facto head of NISA.

The vehicle went to Hotel Shamo at KM 5 and collected Mariam Moalim who is the deputy governor of the Somali Central Bank. She was driven directly to the Central Bank and she called in two of the accounts of the Bank. Once everyone arrive at the Central Bank, she ordered the release of USD 15.000.000 (fifteen million US Dollars).

According to eyewitnesses at the scene, the funds were released with orders directly from Fahad Yasin. No one knows whether Farmaajo had any knowledge about this illegal operation.

Considering the serious political crisis in the country as a whole, and in Mogadishu in particular, Fahad Yasin might be trying to safe Farmaajo’s failing presidency through bribery and vote buying. It might be too late for that.

The stolen money funds were intended for development projects and for payments of the stipends of the Somali armed forces.
