The allegations form part of a broader investigation by Sunatimes into Sharma Boy's activities and past, including earlier incidents in Somalia, his subsequent move to the United States and information recently submitted to Canadian authorities.

Financial records reviewed by Sunatimes document 12 completed transactions between November 3, 2025 and January 31, 2026, totaling $6,857.27, to a recipient identified in the records as "sharmake abdinasir.”

Warsame alleges that the payments were made following threats, blackmail and sustained coercive pressure.

The financial records establish the transfer of the money. Sunatimes has also reviewed additional material relating to the circumstances surrounding the payments as part of its investigation.

From Burtinle to Mogadishu

Sharma Boy was born in Burtinle, Somalia, in 1998, according to a published profile of the artist by Music In Africa. He was subsequently raised in Mogadishu, where he developed the musical career that would later make him widely known among Somali audiences.

But Sunatimes' investigation has examined an earlier and substantially more serious episode connected to his time in Burtinle.

Evidence reviewed by Sunatimes concerns a case in which Sharma Boy was accused of killing a man in Burtinle. Material obtained during the investigation indicates that the case entered the judicial system before Sharma Boy subsequently left Burtinle for Garowe, the capital of Puntland.

Sunatimes has reviewed material relating to the case as part of its investigation and continues to examine the underlying judicial and video records concerning the incident.

Fatal Garowe Crash

Years later, Sharma Boy became involved in another fatal incident, this time extensively documented by Somali media.

On May 28, 2021, a vehicle being driven by Sharma Boy overturned in the Buurawadal area north of Garowe.

A young woman identified as Siciido Jaamac Mire was killed, while another passenger, Cabdi Naasir Shaalle, was injured.

Contemporaneous reporting by Hiiraan Online stated that police in Somalia's Nugaal region detained Sharma Boy following the crash and opened an investigation.

Caasimada Online also reported that police confirmed his detention while investigators examined the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident.

The case subsequently progressed beyond the initial police detention. On May 29, Radio Dalsan reported that Sharma Boy had been questioned by Puntland's Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and transferred to Garowe Central Prison in connection with the fatal crash.

The incident became one of the most serious publicly documented episodes involving the rapper before his eventual relocation abroad.

Move to the United States

Sharma Boy later expanded his career beyond Somalia.

Publicly available biographical reporting places his arrival in the United States in June 2022. His presence in America significantly expanded his profile within the Somali diaspora, particularly in Minnesota, home to one of the largest Somali communities outside Somalia.

He performed publicly and increasingly became part of the Somali-American entertainment and social-media scene.

It was during his time in the United States that another relationship examined by Sunatimes became publicly visible.

Relationship With Malyuun Maanka

Sharma Boy publicly appeared with Malyuun Maanka, including at entertainment events in Minnesota. Publicly available video material from May 2023, for example, shows the pair being promoted together at an event in the state.

Evidence and information reviewed during the Sunatimes investigation allege that Malyuun was subjected to physical abuse and other forms of domestic mistreatment during her relationship with Sharma Boy.

The relationship subsequently ended.

Sunatimes has examined material concerning the relationship as part of its wider investigation into Sharma Boy's activities in the United States.

Mssworld and the $6,857 Payments

The more recent allegations involving Najma Warsame, known as Mssworld, have now brought Sharma Boy under renewed scrutiny.

Warsame alleges that Sharma Boy exploited their relationship and subjected her to threats, blackmail and coercive pressure in order to obtain money.

Financial documentation reviewed by Sunatimes records a sequence of 12 completed transactions totaling $6,857.27 between November 2025 and January 2026.

The payments were not isolated to a single transaction but occurred repeatedly over a period of almost three months.

Sunatimes' investigation has examined the transaction history alongside additional digital material connected to the allegations.

The evidence has raised questions about the circumstances in which the payments were requested and made and whether the conduct surrounding them could warrant examination by competent law-enforcement authorities.

Case Reaches Canadian Authorities

The case has since moved beyond the United States.

Following information that Sharma Boy had travelled from the United States to Canada, material concerning the allegations was submitted to the Canada Border Services Agency's Border Watch program for assessment.

The referral provides Canadian authorities with information relating to the allegations and asks that the material be assessed and, where appropriate, referred to or coordinated with the relevant law-enforcement authorities.

The filing means that information connected to the investigation has now been brought to the attention of Canadian authorities.

The developing case potentially spans Somalia, the United States and Canada, linking historical incidents in Puntland with more recent allegations originating in Minnesota.

A History Now Under Renewed Examination

Taken together, the material reviewed by Sunatimes presents a timeline stretching from Sharma Boy's early years in Burtinle, through Garowe, his rise in Somali music, the fatal 2021 traffic incident, his move to the United States and the allegations now emerging from Minnesota.
