Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – The Government of Ethiopia has appointed Ambassador Jamal Bakar, a native of the Somali Regional State, as the country's new Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Ambassador Jamal, who hails from Ethiopia’s Somali Region, is among several new diplomatic appointees named as part of the government’s recent reshuffle aimed at strengthening Ethiopia’s foreign relations with Gulf nations.
The appointment is seen as a move to enhance Ethiopia’s engagement with the UAE — a key partner in trade, investment, and regional security.
Ambassador Jamal Bakar previously served in various government and diplomatic capacities and is widely respected for his experience in regional affairs and international cooperation.
