The United Nations General Assembly has adopted a historic resolution endorsing the implementation of a two-state solution, granting Palestine an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The proposal, put forward by Saudi Arabia and France, was supported by 142 countries, including Somalia.
However, 10 countries opposed the resolution, among them:
United States
Hungary
Argentina
The resolution is seen as a significant step toward recognizing Palestine’s sovereignty, though political and security challenges remain on the path to achieving lasting peace.
