Mr. Dahir Abdulle Alasow is a seasoned investigative journalist and human rights advocate with a career marked by courageous reporting across conflict zones, exposés on systemic corruption, and powerful human interest storytelling. He has earned recognition as a steadfast voice for justice, accountability, and press freedom throughout East Africa. Through his work, Mr. Alasow continues to champion truth, amplify marginalized voices, and promote transparency in both governance and society.
In an era where disinformation and suppression of free speech threaten the integrity of journalism, Mr. Dahir Abdulle Alasow stands as a beacon of truth and resilience. A Somali-Dutch journalist, Mr. Alasow has built a formidable career on the frontlines of justice, exposing corruption, uncovering human rights violations, and giving voice to the voiceless across East Africa and beyond.

With a career that spans more than two decades, Mr. Alasow’s fearless investigative work has taken him into the heart of war-torn regions, government corruption scandals, and stories of survival and resilience. His reporting has not only brought critical issues to international attention but has also empowered communities and influenced policy discussions.

As the Founder and Editor of Waagacusub Media, an independent platform for investigative journalism, Mr. Alasow has continuously challenged entrenched power structures and advocated for transparency, human dignity, and press freedom. His commitment to truth has often placed him at risk, yet he remains undeterred, driven by an unwavering belief in the public’s right to know.

Mr. Alasow is also the visionary behind the SOM Civil Court (Social Media Civil Court), a grassroots initiative dedicated to civil dispute resolution, humanitarian advocacy, and community justice across Somalia. Through this people-powered platform, he has extended his impact from journalism into direct social action—supporting vulnerable populations, tracing missing persons, and combating human trafficking and exploitation.

He is a recognized member of the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) and the Nederlandse Vereniging van Journalisten (NVJ), reflecting his strong professional standing in both Somali and European press circles.

Currently based in Breda, the Netherlands, Mr. Alasow continues to lead the charge for a free press, ethical leadership, and grassroots justice. In a world desperately in need of integrity and courage, his work exemplifies the role of journalism as a force for accountability and human rights.
