Mogadishu, Sunatimes: Internally Displaced People from 40 camps between Hawa Abdi and Lafole divisions have carried out a peaceful demonstration against water shortage in their camps.

Hundreds of protesting IDPs, most of them Women and Children walked along the road that links Lafoole and Hawa Abdi areas. All along, they shouted that they were facing water shortage for the last 48 hours in their camps.

The camps were supplied with water from a well that was drilled through the funding of Inter-Sos organization. The protesters alleged that the management of the well did not give any reason for disconnecting the water supply.

The IDPs who were protesting also asked the organization that funded the water project to intervene as they also seek the help of good Samaritans who would provide them water for basic domestic use.

In the camps, the IDPs live under a difficult condition and there are many problems ranging from lack of food to proper shelter and lack of water would make their situation worser.
