GALKAYO (Sunnatimes)-Somalia�s Puntland troops have seized dozens of bullets proof jackets for WFP after spotting a vehicle carrying the tools at a checkpoint in the north of Galkayo town, Mudug central region, minister told Sunatimes Monday.

 Abdirahman Ahmad Guled, The information minister of the semi-autonomous region the vehicle is now being held at the northern checkpoint of the town adding that the administration will release it with an apology from officials of World Food Program in Puntland.

We realized the kits were for WFP, it will let go soon� He said in an interview.

 He asserted that WFP plays an active role in assisting the Somali people and said that the bullet proof jackets were meant to protect its staff in Somalia.

Puntland is a regional administration in northeastern Somalia, they belong to their own troops, and administrations along with peaceful atmosphere unline the southern Somalia which has been under extremists and warlords for long time.
