HARADHEERE (Sunnatimes)-Somali pirates have jointly warned Alshabaab to enter their main haven town of Haradheere after the militants have seized a nearby town from moderate Islamists after they move into a nearby village.

Alshabaab have seized Eldher town 150km to the east of Haradheere on Friday from Ahlu Sunna Waljamaca, gaining a big breathing ground in the troubled Galgadud region, central Somalia.

The militants also moved into the Urago, a village close to Eldher.

“We warn them to cross into our town, if they do we shall engage them” Abdullahi, a spokesman for the Somali pirates told Sunnatimes by phone from Haradheere Saturday.

“We are equipped and sophisticated more than them, so if they try we can guarantee their elimination” He angrily added.

Residents in Haradheere told Sunnatimes that the pirates have prepared thousands of militias and more than one hundred battlewagons to defend against Alshabaab.

“They are all armed to fight Alshabaab” Sacdiyo Nur said by phone.

No comments could be reached from Alshabaab on if they would cross into Haradheere.

Somalia has been without government since 1991 after dictator Mohamed Siad Barre was ousted from power by clan militias those later turned to each other.
