Abdhirahim Mudey was arrested on Friday after he publicly denounced unjust and oppression treatment by government officials.
Sunatimes.com - Presidential Director of Public Works Abdirahim Mudey was arrested by Presidential Guards inside the Villa Somalia compound shortly after he stood at the Villa's mosque during Friday prayers and blasted what her termed "unjust and oppression" treatment by senior government officials. Mr. Mudey, an outspoken long-term employee at the Presidential Offices was fired only a week ago by the powerful new Villa Somalia Chief of Staff Fahad Yasin for unknown reasons.

According to an insider source, Mr. Mudey's arrest was ordered by Fahad Yasin haji Dahir who was himself attending the Friday Prayers at the mosque.

"Mudey denounced the behavior of some powerful officials within the government who enjoy the protection of top leaders while oppressing the rights of minority clan members." said the source who spoke to Somali Update in anonymity condition.
Mudey personally spoke out against the sacking of long-term employees and infringing their rights in addition to the security risks those employees faced while executing national duties.
Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khaire, Speaker of the National Assembly Mohamed Osman Jawari, NISA chief Abdullahi Sanbalolshe and several ministers and Members of the Parliament were at the mosque when Mr. Mudey spoke there.
"We are claiming to be on war against graft, but we are really empowering it through unjust treatment." Mudey told officials at the mosque.
Mr. Mudey himself felt oppressed when he was fired from his position at Villa Somalia which followed a directive barring him from entering the presidential compound.
Former Al-Jazeera Arabic TV reporter Fahad Yasin has been appointed as the new chief of staff of Somalia Presidential Palace.
In the past four months, ministers and senior officials with close relationship to the President and the Prime Minister have sacked, removed or suspended numerous civil servants including long-term directors from their positions. Most of those targeted were from clans who have no relations to top leaders or those simply known to be "unprotected guys".
Latest example is how the Villa Somalia Chief of Staff fired four directors among them Mr. Mudey while his deputy Ahmed Shole barred Minister of Education Abdirahman Dahir Osman from traveling with the President Farmajo's delegation to Egypt on Sunday despite the minister's name was on the list of the government officials departing to Cairo.
Anyhow, Mr. Mudey was on Friday night released from the jail without any justification after intervention from lawmakers who knew the matter.
