Kismayo,Sunatimes.com- Fishermen in the Lower Juba region of Somalia are complaining of the seasonal sea winds that have disrupted their fishing activities.

There are heavy winds moving around the Indian Ocean during this season and even most of the sea ports in Somalia have been closed due to those winds that halted sea traffic.

Fish traders in Kismayo told Bar-kulan’s reporter in the Lower Juba region that they have not travelled to the interior islands to buy fish from the fishermen who are stationed in those islands. Kismayo fish market has also realized an increase in the price of fish and fish products.

Boat owners and boat operators are also suffering due to the winds that have restricted their moverment within the sea. Bar-kulan’s reporter in the Lower Juba regions has reported that there are a number of boats stuck in Alaney seashore.
