Reports from Mudug region say warships and Helicopters were spotted near pirate invested Somali town of Hobyo
Locals in Hobyo town told sunatimeshelicopters were seen flying over the town for the last two days, heightening trepidation among the locals. They said naval ships deployed to fight piracy along the coast of Somalia have been on the increase for the last few weeks. The incident comes few days after pirates reportedly expelled Galmudug president from the town. Hobyo is known for its piracy activities, as it serves as a location for pirates to anchor hijacked ships while demanding ransoms. |
