26 presidential hopefuls given presidential application forms.

Presidential election commission says that 26 candidates of the presidential seat have so far taken application forms to fill up since the process was opened yesterday in Mogadishu capital.

Osman Libah, Spokesman of the commission told Sunatimes that the election commission is in its second day of giving and collecting application forms from presidential hopefuls and added that 26 aspirants have so far taken the application forms.

The spokesman says the election commission previously set conditions to be fulfilled by presidential hopefuls where the requirements were either drawn from the constitution or written by the presidential election commission.

One of the set requirements for a presidential hopeful is the possession of a Somali passport or birth certificate.

A historical presidential election is anticipated to be held in Somalia on 10^thSeptember.
