Shock as headless body of a teenager found in Galkayo.

Locals in central Somali city of Galkayo were today shocked after headless body of a teenage boy was found dumped in an area south of the city.

Confirming the incident, Galmudug police boss Col. Mohamed Noor Ali said the grim discovery was first made by local quarry workers who later informed the police.

He said police are now investigation the incident to determine the perpetrators of this brutal killing.

The headless body which reportedly bore no gunshot wounds was found dumped on the outskirt of the city heightening trepidations among the locals.

The motive and those behind his killing are not yet known.

The incident comes almost a year after four unidentified dead bodies were found dumped on streets around the area Airport and the road connecting Galkayo to other cities in Central Somalia regions.

Galkayo which straddles the border separating semi-autonomous Puntland from the self-proclaimed separate region of Galmudug to the south has in the recent past seen waves of violent assassinations and organised crimes.
