A Somali journalist, Ahmed Adow Anshur has been shot dead on Thursday afternoon in Suq Bole neighborhood in Dharkeynley district, Banadir region.
Ahmed Adow was a journalist working for Shabelle radio and came under fire from unidentified gunmen. The perpetrators behind the murder of the reporter have escaped from the scene moments after the incident. He is the third journalist from Shabelle and the sixth Somali journalist assassinated since the turn of the year. Shabelle is one of many privately owned media outlets operating in the war-torn nation and has lost many brave journalists in Somalia over the years. No one has claimed responsibility so far. |
