President Sharif receives letter of credence from Iranian ambassador to Somalia.

President Sharif Sheikh Ahmed today received letters of credence from the ambassador of the Republic of Iran, Makel Hussein.

The President congratulated the new ambassador of Iran to Somalia and expressed hope his appointment as the ambassador would promote yet stronger relations between the two countries and expand their partnership that was increasingly turning into special cooperation on most important issues.

Accepting letters of credence from Ambassador Hussein, President Sharif pointed out Iran’s effort to support the Somali people during the recent human tragedy in the country.

The president wished the Ambassador every success in discharging his important mission.

Mr Hussein thanked the Somali president for accepting his credence letter, saying that Somalia has been the most important partner of Iran.
