Puntland administration in northeastern Somalia acknowledges the threat posed by Al Shabaab militants during the holy month of Ramadan.
Puntland Vice President, Abdihakim Abdullahi Haji Omar has called on the locals to work together to ensure peace and stability are maintained during the holy month of Ramadan as he acknowledged the possibility of increased Al Shabaab attacks.
He further urged Puntland security organs and its people to maintain peace and stability in order to prevent anything which he said can jeopardize the region’s relative peace.
He made the statement while speaking at a ceremony held in Garowe to commemorate the 54th Anniversary since Somalia’s northern regions gained independence from Britain.
The vice president finally congratulated Somali people for the occasion.
