Sunatimes.com - The president of Somalia's Jubbaland regional state, Ahmed Mohmaed Islam aka Ahmed Madobe, met on Thursday with the US Ambassador to Somalia, Donald Yamomoto, in the Kenyan capital Nairobi.
The two discussed a range of issues including the political process in the country, security and the projects implemented by USAID in Jubbaland.
Madobe and Yamomoto underscored the importance of the relationship and cooperation between regional states and the federal government to jointly confront the challenges facing the country ahead of the 2020/2021 elections.
The Jubbaland leader Madobe thanked the US for its efforts in supporting Jubbaland in the fight against the militant group, Al-Shabaab, and also for the projects being implemented by USAID in the region.
Madobe, Puntland state president Said Abdullahi Deni and his South West state counterpart, Abdiaziz Lafta Gareen, are all on separate visits to Kenya.
