Wanlewayn,Sunatimes: Al-Shabab fighters in the Hakaba division of the Wale-weyn district have attacked Hizbul-islam militias who previously controlled the area, and managed to take it over.

The attack, which took place late yesterday, forced Hizbul-Islam militias to respond. The two groups clashed and the resulting fighting caused loss of life and destruction of property.

The fighting between the two militia groups had the residents living in fear, although the town now remains calm as Al-shabab militias are preparing to establish a new administrative system.

The local residents of the wanle-Wayn district told radio Bar-kulan that seven fighters from the two militia groups were injured in the fighting.

Al-shabab has recently started taking over, by force, the administration of some areas under the control of the Hizbul-Islam militia group and some of the Hizbu-Islam fighters have joined them.
