Baidabo: Sunatimes: As the disagreements between Al-shabab and Hizbul-Islam militias continue, Shabab fighters in Baidabo district are reported to be in a preparation to take over the control of Burhakaba district from Hizbul-Islam militias.
One of the leaders of Al-shabab in Baidabo district has explained that they are making some efforts to convince the locals of Burhakaba and the existing administration to join Al-shabab movement.
Sheikh Muktar Osman Abuu Muslim who is one of Al-shabab leaders in Bay and Bakol regions said that if the current administration of Hizbul-Islam in Burhakabo fails to agree to merge with them they will give them time to leave the area.
However, SheikhHajir who is Hizbul-Islam’s district officer in Burhakabo expressed that his administration was not ready to join Al-shabab. He further clarified that his authority in Burhakabo will be the last group to leave Hizbul-Islam and join Burhakaba.
Hizbul-islam group which is one of the anti-government militias in Somalia has recently joined some of its forces to the main opposition militia which is Al-shabab.
