Rising political and security tensions have been reported in Dhuusamareeb amid claims that Somalia's National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) chief, Mahad Salad, deployed forces into the city targeting the administration of Ahmed Abdi Karie Qoor Qoor.
According to local reports, the situation inside the city remains tense as fears grow over the possibility of armed confrontation that could destabilize the region. Qoor Qoor is reportedly backed by loyal and heavily armed regional forces.
Political observers warn that the alleged actions could threaten the peace and development of Dhuusamareeb, a city that has recently experienced significant reconstruction and urban growth, becoming one of the most developed cities in central Somalia.
So far, no official statement has been issued by the Federal Government of Somalia or the Galmudug administration confirming the reports.
