Dear Mr Peter.

We are a family of 12 children and their mother.

Our father, Abdikarim Sheikh Muse, Qalbi Dagah, who was among the leadership of ONLF and a former Somali military official has been abducted from Galkayo on 20 August 2017 by the Somali Government.  He was taken to Villa Somalia, and two days later he was handed to Ethiopian enemies.

The first person whom we have heard about the abduction of our father was journalist Dahir Alasow, who was constantly communicating us about our father’s condition and that he was about to be taken to Ethiopia in clandestine way.

On 1st September, Somalis held protests in Mogadishu and their anger that their government handed official from their military to Ethiopia, but after one week, on 8 September, heavily armed security forces, led by the information minister Mr Abdirahman Omar Osman, broke into our home at a night time.  He is the one who accused our father of being a terrorist.

Even though these forces have tortured us,  the minister threatened us that they’ll handed all of us to Ethiopia if we air our voice through the independent media.

On September 16, we decided to flee from Mogadishu very early.  We arrived Dadaab refugee camp in Kenya where we are now.

Somali cabinet branded our father and ONLF as terrorists according to minister Abdirahman Omar Osman.  Click this link  https://www.youtube.com/watch? v=zoD9W-8t23c&t=122s

On November 18, 2017 Somalia parliament dismissed the false statement made by minister Osman.  They clearly stated that handing our father Abdikarim Qalbi Dhagah to Ethiopia was a big crime.  The parliamentary investigative committee’s findings was that neither Qalbi Dhagah, nor ONLF is not terrorist and has not been involved into terrorism activities.  They added that his rendition has not been in line with the law of the country.  See this link  https://www.youtube.com/watch? v=5RXjH3gupoY

Read below links for what the international media wrote about the rendition of our father

ONLF is a freedom fighter organization that fights to liberate the western Somali territory from Ethiopia, but the irony is that we are not politicians, and minister Osman and his armed men raided us in night time.  Apart from the torture they inflicted us; they scared children who were asleep.  Scars are still visible in our skin.

Dahir Alasow is the one who was behind parliament’s decision and protests inside and outside Somalia.

We’d like to tell the high court in Amsterdam that journalist Dahir Alasow is important for the Somali victims.  He is the voice of the voiceless.  Therefore, we’d like to request the esteemed court not to listen those politicians like minister Osman, who flourish with blood of the innocents.
