ELASHA BIYAHA (Sunatimes)- Somalia’s desperate refugees overcrowded in refugees’ camps with no assistance have condemned Alshabaab’s move to ban World Food Programme humanitarian operations, the unique aid they had.

Sitting desperate in huts in Elasha Biyaha IDPs village, 15km to the south of Mogadishu, Halima Hussein, a mother of four says she faced sharp living deprivation since the extremists Alshabaab group have banned WFP from operating in Somalia after failing to get extortions from the agency.

“It was our last living expectation, we can’t say our life is life” She says in an interview.

“We have no food, water and any assistance at all, if they (alshabaab) are not giving us food, why are they banning people do for us?” she noted.

She asked Alshabaab to retract their decision to out WFP.

Alshabaab banned the agency’s operations, saying it was distributing food past its expiry date and undermining farming, and warned local aid groups against working with the WFP.

The horn of Africa nation has been without central government since1991 after clan militias and warlords overthrown the dictator regime of Siad Barre that lastly leashed the out to constant violence for more than 20 years.
