As the government of Somalia we are very sorry for the continuation of civilians-casualties,

Mogadishu,Sunatimes- The transitional federal government (TFG) of Somalia on Thursday sent at least ten seriously wounded civilians to Uganda for treatment, Deputy prime minister told Radio Mogadishu Thursday.

"We have decided to ask our friendly nations to help us get high quality treatment in their countries for the seriously wounded civilians and we are very grateful to the countries who accepted our request" the deputy Prime Minister Prof Abdirahman Ibrahim Aden said.

"The government took this decision after doctors here confirmed that the situation of those people cannot be tackled in the country and that they must be taken abroad for treatment, because of Somalia’s poor healthy services" he stated.

He said that ten civilians who were injured in the latest clashes in Mogadishu were on Thursday flown to Uganda, one of the African countries who are helping Somalia stand on its feet again.

Uganda was the first African country which contributed troops to the African Union mission in Somalia, just over three years ago and it has currently at least 4,000 peacekeepers in the country.

"As the government of Somalia we are very sorry for the continuation of civilians-casualties, but will we do as much as we can to help them get back stability and safety" the deputy prime minister added.

In the past several months Somali government sent scores of seriously wounded civilians to countries like Turkey, Kenya and Djibouti which all maintain good diplomatic ties and bilateral relationships with the lawless horn of African country which lacked a functioning central government for the past two decades
