MOGADISHU (Sunatimes)- Somalia’s government troops have shot dead two men burying roadside bombs in Shangani area, north of Somali capital, police said Friday.
The two men looked at the ages of less than 30 years were killed as they were hiding in shrubs place near a street close to AU base, they were killed on the spot by patrolling Somali troops.
“We have killed two anti-peace men burying landmines” Abdullahi Abdi, a senior police official told Sunatimes.
“We shall not be deterred by the terrorists killing our people” he added.
Alshabaab militants who profess loyalty to al Qaeda have increasingly resorted to executing those they accuse of spying for Somali government in the last two years alongside more suicide and roadside bombs, tactics copied from Iraq that officials say are aimed at instilling fear.
