Musicians and poets, mainly youths, will also take part in the celebrations of youth day in Mogadishu

Mogadishu- (Sunatimes) The Transitional Federal Government of Somalia is preparing to celebrate International Youth Day on the 12th of August, 2010.

The Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Khadija Mohamed Diriye, announced today that the TFG was ready to mark the international day.
She said that officials from her ministry have already met with the administration of the Banadir region, Somalia’s National Olympic Committee and different youth organizations to plan and mark the day.

Musicians and poets, mainly youths, will also take part in the celebrations of youth day in Mogadishu.

The Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs also said that her ministry was planning to launch a national project that will benefit the youth in Somalia after tomorrow’s celebrations.

The Minister said Somali youth were currently facing many challenges and most of them are victims of the ongoing violence in the Horn of Africa nation.
