Galmudug Police Commissioner, Col. Abdi Jama Habeb who spoke at the celebrations congratulated the Somali Police for its 70thbirthday.

Abdi Hassan Awale Qeydid, the President of Galmudug Administration also congratulated the Somali Police and thanked Galmudug Police for its commitment to maintain law and order in Galmudug-administered areas.

The ceremony was attended by local administration officials, police chiefs and cabinet ministers from Galmudug Administration.

In elsewhere, Galgadud administration officials, Ahlu Sunna Wal Jama representatives and Somali National Army officers have on Friday marked the 70thAnniversary of the Somali Police in Galgadud region.

Hussein Ali Wehliye Irfo, the Governor of Galgadud region who attended the ceremony congratulated the Somali Police and promised that the government will improve the quality and the capacity of the police in Galgadud.

This is the first time in 23 years that a ceremony to mark the anniversary of the Somali Police is held in Galgadud region.

Many regions in Somalia have on Friday celebrated the 70thAnniversary of the Somali Police.
