Somalia: Prime Minister: The World Should Unite to Stop Al Shabab Terror

Mogadishu,Sunatimes- The Prime Minister of Somalia, Omar Abdirashid Ali-Sharmarke reacted to the admission of Al Shabab terrorists to carrying out the terrorist blasts in Kampala last night.

In a statement early this evening, Prime Minister Sharmarke said that the "Al Shabab terrorist group who killed children for watching World Cup matches in Mogadishu have taken full responsibility for the carnage in Kampala. The Somali people and government condemn this cowardly act and send their deepest condolences to the people and government of Uganda."

The Prime Minister "calls on the civilized world to unite in stopping the mindless terror enterprise of Al-Shabab – which clearly is the Al Qaeda branch of Somalia."

The fact that these fanatics target innocent civilians in Kampala "bears out the menacing nature of the Al Shabab and the need for a sustained regional and international response to this scourge. We will work with our partners in Uganda and the International Community in bringing the cowards responsible for this heinous act to justice" Prime Minister Sharmarke said in his statement.
