Sunatimes (Cape town): A Somali businessman died last night in one of Cape Town’s hospitals from injuries he sustained when armed robbers attacked him in his shop in Cape Town yesterday afternoon.

The deceased businessman whose name was Said Husein Omar was operating a small shop in Samoora division of the capital Cape Town. The robbers also took away some money and goods from his shop.

He was one of the few Somali and Ethiopian business owners operating in rural areas in South Africa where South African gangs usually attack and rob them.

Mr. Abdirahman Saney Boolay who is another Somali businessman was also attacked and injured by robbers in Cape Town last night. He was taken to hospital by his colleagues and he is now nursing the injuries he sustained.

The attacks on business owners of Somali origin has recently increased in South Africa despite the tight security maintained by the police during this time of the FIFA world cup.
