Kismayo: Sunatimes- Hundreds of internally displaced families from Mogadishu have arrived in Kismayo, capital of the lower Juba region in Somalia.
Most of the displaced families have fled the latest fighting that occurred in Mogadishu between the government forces and fighters of the opposing militias.
As soon as they arrived in Kismayo, the IDPs headed to different refugee and internally displaced camps. Eighty of the fleeing families went and settled in the Badar refugee camp, which is located in western Kismayo.
The community camp leader in the Badar refugee camp, Husesin Ali Nor, told Bar- kulan’s reporter in the lower Juba region that the health condition of the fleeing families who arrived was not good.
He urged the Al-shabab administration in Kismayo to help the IDPs with relief aid, although Al-shabab hardly provides such services apart from making orders and banning products and activities.
