Mogadishu: Sunatimes.com- Ali Mohamud Rage, better known as Ali Dere who is the spokesman of Al-shabab militia group in Somalia has declared that it is sin to celebrate the independence of Somalia, claiming that the celebrations are not in accordance with the Islamic Sharia.

Sheikh Ali Dere also provoked the Somali national flag claiming it was designed by the Italian colonist and therefore not fit for the Muslim Somali nation. Al-shabab usually carries a black flag with religious script in the middle that it claims is the flag of the Islamic faith. This new flag is also used by other Jiahdist groups that fight in Afghanistan and Iraq.

In an exclusive interview he gave to a radio station that is run by his group, Sheikh Ali Dere also said that it was stupidity to remember and celebrate the freedom fighters of Somalia who fought with the Italian, British and French colonists claiming that they are not religious heroes.

Al-shabab militias had earlier burnt down the national flag in a place a crowd of people had gathered. One Somali patriot who was a blood pressure patient died at the gathering where the flag was being burnt when he could not with stand the pain he felt to see his national flag burning.

It is feared that Al-shabab will prevent the local citizens in the areas under their control from celebrating the national independence day of the war-torn Horn African nation.
