GALKAYO (Sunatimes) - Two Somali civilians have been killed in the latest incident in a string of terrorist attacks in the central Somalia town of Galkayo, witnesses said on Sunday.

The two were killed by gunmen at a cafe in the city after two assailants with pistols emerged from a mirror-tainted who later escaped after the shooting.

“They have killed two people and fled – the police pursued them” Ahmed Jimale, eyewitness told Sunatimes.

“It’s a wicked incident --- I believe that Alshabaab carried out that attack” he added.

Police cordoned off the area after the attack and launched an investigation.

Galkacyo is the capital of the Mudug region, central Somalia; it�s divided into two zones, where the southern portion forms the administrative seat of the Galmudug state, while the main northern portion is part of the Puntland semiautonomous region. The city has an estimated population of 545,000.
