In July 2009, Mahad Ibrahim Hamarow kidnapped French officers Denis Allex and another officer who escaped from the Sahafi Hotel in Mogadishu and then joined Al Shabaab. In the same year, he fled to Kenya, this was confirmed by Hizbul Islam Spokesman Mr Aydarus. - In 2010, Mahad Hamarow went to South Africa for migration, that's how we found out in the investigation, we were also told by Mohamed Isse and his brother Somaney who lives in Johannesburg South Africa.
- Mahad Hamarow's brother Hussein Hamarow, who was one of the top officials of Somali pirates, called him in 2011 after the pirates got a lot of money from the oil ship owned by Saudi Arabia.
Hussein Hamarow received 10 million dollars from that ship. as confirmed by Abdulkadir Mohamed Abdi Afweyne, who is the son of the pirate chief.
In 2011, Mahad Hamarow returned to Somalia, especially in Harardhere, and joined the pirates.
In 2012, Mahad Hamarow took part in the kidnapping of American/German journalist Michael Scott Moore. In the same year, he killed many men, including Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed, known as Mohamed Weershe Falane or Mohamed Duceysane, hails from Yabar dhowrakace, Ayr Habargidir Clan. Former Minister of Internal Affairs of Galmudug, Mr. Abdi Madobe, who is imprisoned in the United States, and the woman who was killed by her husband, named Khadijjo Ali Said Igal told Sunatimes.com
Mohamed Falane was a bodyguard for Sahra Miig who was a Khatwale from Saleban clan  and married to Ahmed Sayruq.
When he killed Mohamed Falane in Haradhere, and kidnapped Michael Scott Moore in 2012, he got a Somali passport the same year and went to Johannesburg. He was returned from Johannesburg Airport and deported back to Somalia.
In 2013, he once again entered South Africa as a migrant, and immediately identified himself as Ethiopian using a name that was not his real one.
He took a refugee document from South Africa [South African Travel document], and said he is an Ethiopian citizen. It is the document that he immigrated to America.


His passport shows the following details
Name: Baartman Sylvester Eugene , Date of birth 24 Sept 1987, Passport No: A09494059.
It was issued on 3 November 2021, and expires on 2 November 2031.
When he entered the United States in November 2021, he gave himself the name Mahad Ibrahim Mahamud. His date of birth is 27 March 1989.
Mahad Ibrahim Mahamud admitted that the passport shared on social media was his, and said that he owns the passport with the name of Baartman Eugen.
According to reports about the killer, the kidnapper of Somalia, Mr. Mahad Mahamud, says planning to flee into Canada.
The youth of the community where he was born in Salebaan Habargidir told Waagacusub Media that Mahad Mahmoud, who is known on social media as a Garyaqaan, received support and money from a man named Hassan Hared Ali Fonge who owns Hared Trucking LLC.
This man and his brother were accused of re-organizing Somali pirates. Dhegacade Hared Ali Fonge who lives in Seattle Washington in the United States, visited Harardhere area as shown of the photos taken from the scene.
