Sunatimes.com - Amniyat members of Al-Shabab who defected from the militants reported that the capital used to open International Bank of Somalia IBS belongs to former finance officer of Al-Qaeda Somalia, Fazul Abdallah. Zakariya Ismail Hersi, former head of Amniyat, currently member of Somali intelligence told Sunatimes that Fazul had business relationship with Mohamed Ali Warsame, Bashir Guushaa, and Abukar Omar Addan.

Zakariya added that Al Qaeda used to send Somalia foodstuff such as flour, rice, and sugar, and construction material sent to Somali businessmen.  These businessmen used to sell the commodities and send back the capital.  "Fazul Abdallah was killed while his money is in the local trade companies.  I heard that the owner of IBS bank Somalia Mohamed Ali Warsame had 157 million dollars belongs to Fazul, which was later used to open the bank” said Zakariya.

Former NISA official in charge of Banadir region who wants to remain unanimous confirmed that Mohamed Ali Warsame paid 2 million dollars of bribe to the security minister, Khalif Ereg.
General Ereg bought two houses near villa Somalia.  He was not available to respond our inquiries, but two close collaborators of him confirmed that the money of Fazul was 157 million dollars.

Mohamed Ali Warsame who is not known working with Somalia terrorists became millionaire who built hotels and apartments in Mogadishu, and established big businesses, but its not clear whether he is a member of the terrorists or whether he admires them because of his interests.

Amniyat official believes that Mohamed Ali Warsame is using the money of Fazul, but there is no evidence that he still has business links with Al Qaeda.  IBS Bank Somalia unveiled last week partnership with Visa Card.  In general, terrorists in Somalia have big business companies such as real estate companies.
