. In Addis Ababa, there is a very big speculation about the likelihoodof sending Ethiopian troops back to Somalia to help the fragilegovernment of Somalia led by president Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed whohas paid an official visit in Addis over the weekend.
The Ethiopian troops who withdrew from Somalia on 2008 haveeffectively helped the former Somali government led by colonelAbdullahi Yusuf Ahmed for stemming the breeding insurgency in Somaliawhich is different from the AU peacekeepers controlling few blocks inMogadishu, rather than pursuing the insurgent groups.
ADDIS ABABA (Sunatimes)- The erratic Somalia violence driven byextremists is a big threat to the security of the neighboringEthiopia, Ethiopian foreign Minster said.
While delivering speech at the 65th UN General Assembly on Wednesday,Mesfin has firmly reiterated that Ethiopia is under pressure fromSomalia’s violence and action needed to stem that violence.
" We feel that our country (Ethiopia) is coming under Somaliamilitants’ intentions to cause problems inside our country" Mesfinsaid.
