Mogadishu {Sunatimes} Somali
military officials in Bay region of southern Somalia have started indirect
clan-based talks with Mukhtar Robow [Abu Mansur], one of senior Al Shabab
commanders in southern Somalia.

Ahmed, the leading officer of Somali military forces in Bay region has
confirmed the talks started this week in a bid tcer did no persuade the
militant man to surrender to the government.
Colonel Ali also
pointed out that the talks were helped by local clan elders who may have their
influences on the matter.
The officer did not
provide any further details about the matter.
"There is now
in-fight between Al Shabab's senior commander following huge rift between its
leaders so our aim is to make use of that opportunity." Colonel Ali Salad
added.
Mukhtar Robow, a
radical and prominent Al Shabab commander has been hiding himself in somewhere
in Bay and Bakool regions after his supporters were ousted by the group's top
leader Ahmed Godane who now ciontrols much of Al Shabab's militia.
Hassan Dahir Aweys
who was also influential Al Shabab leader has left the group and surrendered to
the government after local elders persuaded to do so which later led to his
arrest in Mogadishu.
