“Neither Omar Faruk nor any other person did not contact us. What
Faruk told to the media is part of his made-up claims.”Abdirisak Black, a
reporter for Somali Channel Television in Mogadishu told Sunatimes.
Muse Mohamud Jisow, the editor of Somalisan.com who is also
among the wounded journalists said he is telling the international media groups
that he has nothing to do with Omar Faruk. “I see him as an enemy to the
independent local media.” He added.
Jisow said he is healthy and recovering from the wounded he
had received.
“Faruk would have liked us to be dead so as to make money for
own sake because his behavior is like that. Now we are survived from death,
only we have got light wounds and we can continue our duty ahead.” Abdi Risak
Jama Black said angrily.
For the past two years, there has been increasing
condemnations by the local journalists against Omar Faruk, Hassan Hajji Hanafi,
Ismail Istilla and Mohamed Ibrahim Bakistan on their role of being behind the
killings and displacing of the journalists in southern Somalia.
