Hargeysa (Somaliland) The president of Somaliland, Ahmed Mohamud Silanyo has on Tuesday participated in a national prayer for rain that was held in Hargeysa, the capital of Somaliland.
Silanyo and other local citizens prayed to GOD to help them overcome the problems caused by the ravaging drought.
The minister for religion affairs, Sheikh Qalil Abdullahi led the prayers. Sheikh Qalil urged the people of Somaliland to keep praying to GOD.
President Silanyo has on Friday called on all Somaliland citizens to participate in the national prayer for rain.
Somaliland is one of the most affected areas by the escalating drought in the Horn of Africa region.
