Mogadishu (Sunatimes) Al-shabab militants are reported to have completed a militia training they offered to hundreds of youths in the Lower Shabele region.

The youths were collected from several districts of the Lower Shabele region which is under the control of the insurgent group. Some of them are young children at the age of thirteen.

Al-shabab’s most senior official in the Lower Shabele region, Abdikani Abu Yahya addressed the trained militias at Lanta Buro camp at the periphery of Afgoye town. Abu Yahya informed the youths that they will participate in the fight that is going on in Mogadishu.

Al-shabab lost several other bases in Mogadishu and other parts of the country which they used as training grounds.

The Militant group has started a campaign to convince residents living in the areas under their control to join them.
