Mogadishu (Sunatimes) Al-shabab militias have taken over the rural home of Imam Mohamud Imam Omar in the Middle Shabele region.
The rural home is located at a farm in Adan Gabey village of the Adale district in Middle Shabele.
Two militia vehicles arrived at the house of the Imam on Sunday morning. The guards escaped before Al-shabab insurgents came in. The militants took away two land rovers, a canter and a engine that was used to pipe water in the farm among other properties that belong to the Imam.
The insurgents did not give any reason for taking away the property of the cleric.
However, Imama Mohamud recently criticized Al-shabab militants and was among elders who held a press conference in Mogadishu on the current situation of the country. His criticism on Al-shabab could be the reason for today’s actions of the group.
Imam Mohamud is one of the most prominent clerics in the middle Shabele region.
