SOmali government pushes it's mother (AU)

MOGADISHU (Sunatimes)- Somalia’s embattled government has criticized the African union body for suggesting extension of the parliament’s term in Somalia after the mandate of the current one expires after five minutes.

Mohamed Abdullahi Omaar, Somalia’s foreign minster has angrily dismissed AU’s proposal, saying their rights of term extension is needless to point.

"The AU has no right to reach decision on issues concerning the transitional government". Umar further said "the AU has been supporting them, but the transitional government will only listened to the AU's important and corrective suggestions" Omaar said at a press conference in Addis Ababa on Monday..

speaking a special meeting at the organization's summit, The African Union Commissioner Jean Ping, said the transitional government has failed to deliver and had been unable to establish its authority or provide stability or social services for Somalis.

The mandate of the transitional government ends on 21 August 2011.

The horn of Africa nation has been without central government since1991 after clan militias and warlords overthrown the dictator regime of Siad Barre that lastly leashed out to constant violence for more than 20 years.
