ROME (Sunatimes)- Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi received
Somali Prime Minister Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed at the Palazzo Chigi
[Italian prime minister's official residence] yesterday, a communique
issued by the prime minister's office reports, going on to point out
that: "Italy is the first European country to have been visited by the
Somali prime minister since he was appointed to head up the
transitional federal government."

In the course of their talks, Berlusconi "renewed Italy's political

" The Italian and Somali prime ministers, the communique concludes,
"dwelled in particular on issues relating to security: the struggle
against terrorism and against organized crime in Somalia and the
struggle against piracy off the Horn of Africa coast."
