    Alshabab threatens to behead twenty war prisoners from Hezb al-Islam

    Mogadishu (Sunatimes) – Alshabab militants in Somalia, an insurgent group allied to Alqaeda, vowed to beheading twenty militia commanders from the other militant groups Hezb al-Islam after they captured them in a fighting in Burhakaba, Sunday.

Mogadishu (Sunatimes) – Alshabab militants in Somalia, an insurgent group allied to Alqaeda, vowed to beheading twenty militia commanders from the other militant groups Hezb al-Islam after they captured them in a fighting in Burhakaba, Sunday. The arrest of these was prisoners who are supposed to be beheaded in public, as Alshabab vowed, came after Alshabab and Hezb al-Islam fought over the control of Burhakaba, an strategic town in Bay region, the south west of Mogadishu.

Among the arrested Hezb al-Islam militia commanders who are close to the leader of Hezb al-Islam, the hard-line leader Sheikh Hassan Dahir Aweys.

An Alshabab source in Burhakaba told Sunatimes that they captured in the fighting at least twenty militia commander from Hezb al-Islam, among them the district commissioner of Burhakaba for Hezb al-Islam Sidow Hajir, the public relation secretary Mohamed Kusow and the finance sectertay.


The war between Hezb al-Islam and Alshabab started three days ago and killed more than 25 people and wounded over 5o others who are mostly the waring insurgents.

Sheikh Aweys, the icon of the Islamic militancy in Somalia is facing threats from Alshabab, an insurgent group led by young men who used to be his students before 2002 when they joined Alqaeda training camps in Afghanistan.

Alshabab is fighting to topple the transitional government of Somalia led by president Sharif Sheikh Ahmed, who gets assistance from the African Union forces AMISOM and have ambition install Islamic state in Somalia.
