Abraham Lojore, suspect behind the killing of seven students at Lokichogio School has been lynched by an angry mob soon after being arrested. The student who hadearlier been expelled over indiscipline, was arrested at Kakuma while trying to flee.

The residents stormed thepolice station where he had been detained, and grabbed him from the police.

Confirming the incident, Rift Valley Regional Cordinator Wamyama Musyambo said the armed student who is from the Toposa community that lives in South Sudan attacked the school in what is believed to be a revenge mission.

Musyambo said the suspect only identified as Ibrahim was a form one student who attacked the school in the company of three others after he was expelled from the institution over indiscipline.

The regional coordinator said the suspects gained access to the school after shooting the school security guard killing him on the spot before proceeding to the dormitory where he killed five others students.

"The suspect was accompanied by three other suspects when they descended on the watchman and shot him dead. They proceeded to the boys’ dormitory where he shot dead five other students selectively,” said Musyambo.

He added that eighteen other students sustained bullet injuries and have been rushed to different hospitals in Turkana and Uasin Gishu counties.

"Four students were critically injured and have been airlifted to Eldoret for treatment while 14 others have been admitted at Kakuma Hospital with bullet injuries. He also injured several girls in their dormitory,” said Musyambo.

Musyambo said that security officers responded to the attack immediately and pursued the suspects who hadcrossed the border to South Sudan.

The suspectwas arrested in Kakuma while fleeing towards the Kakuma refugee camp.
