Garbaharey district commissioner Iman Adow Karshe confirmed to Sunatimes that the government forces have lost one soldier in the skirmishes between the two sides.

He added that at least 7 Al Shabaab fighters were killed while one government soldier sustained injuries.

He finally said that the fighting broke out after Al Shabaab fighters attacked government military base in the outskirts of Garbaharey town in the late hours of Tuesday afternoon.
