Somaliland president Silanyo must be very unhappy and disappointed man in London. After all no recognition was handed over to the hopeful old man, not even asympathetic ears in the meeting Point blank he was told to sort things out with other Somalis. This must be a sharp needle in the flesh of the man who despises anything Somali south of Burco.
It left a very bad taste in the mouth when Somalilanddelegationrefused to share a breakfast table with other Somalidelegateshosted by PM Cameron onThursdaymorning. Worse of all was during the group photo when Silanyo refused to stand on the side of Somalis and opted to rub shoulders with Meles Zenaw. How pathetic?
Not sure where this kind of arrogance will take Silanyo and SLsecessionists.
Any sense or respect for sale??
An other comments says
Siilaanyo might have
had a depressing time at the London conference, but his secessionist media are
hailing his participation as a great success saying he was treated like any
other head of a state, had meetings with other leaders like a head of a State
and so on. It is as if we live in two different planets and have no way of
knowing what actually took place.
This is not simply a question of disinformation. There is collective
resignation to delusion and make-believe. Just like SL borders are recognised
by the AU, that 53 countries recognised SL on independence night when none did
and that the Act of Union was never ratified when it was. People who are
subject to delusion are dangerous because they are so removed from reality and act
on false premises.
Whatever else Siilaanyo is, he is not amenable to reason and will never take no
for an answer. He will go undeterred, refuse to change direction even if he has
reached a dead end. Knowing him so well, I foresee he will launch another
desperate attack on Buuhoodle just to claim if he succeeds that he controls the
two major towns of Khaatumo State. The fact that it is the will of the people
who happen to be unionists that counts and not the capture of mere towns does
not cut much ice with him and his followers. Like a bulldozer, he will go on
the offensive on Buuhoodle for the umpteeneth time and trample anything on his
way. But like all aggressors, his adventure will inevitably end in ignominy and
defeat. That is the outcome awaiting him at Buuhoodle. Count on a victory for
Somali unity.
