Mogadishu (Sunatimes) Civic society groups in Benadir region on Thursday hailed Djibouti’s decision to send its troops into the neighbouring Somalia as part of AU peacekeeping force in Mogadishu.

In an interview with Bar-kulan, the groups’ chairman, Muhyadin Hassan Afrah, said they welcome the proposed Djiboutian troops and any other country that will send its troops to Somalia for a peacekeeping mission.

Afrah further said Somalis have been waiting for the Djiboutian military help in restoring law and order in chaotic Somalia, adding that they will be happy to see Djiboutian troops serving the AU peacekeeping Mission in Somalia.

Meanwhile, Afrah praised the AU and TFG forces for the commitment they have shown during the recent security operations in Mogadishu against Al-Shabaab rebel fighters.

Djiboutian troops are expected soon to arrive in the country to join other African Union in Mogadishu.
