Mogadishu (Sunatimes) Four young men from Al-Shabab militias have yesterday surrendered to the government and the African Union Peacekeeping mission in Somalia (AMISOM).
The spokesman of AMISOM forces, Paddy Akunda confirmed to Bar-kulan the incident, and asked the rest of the youth to leave from the militant group and join the government troops.
Paddy Akunda promised to welcome all those who are with Al-Shabaab if they defect, adding that the government has set aside a center for rehabilitating the defectors.
There was an influx of defectors from the militia of Al Shabab for the last three months, after they lost key positions in the fight and the support of the Somali people.
