Somalia gives embassy land to UK

The Somali government has officially handed over a piece of land earmarked for the construction UK embassy in Mogadishu to the British government.

President Mohamud handed over the land to a UK delegation led by British ambassador to Somalia Matt Baugh who visited Mogadishu on Wednesday.

After officially receiving the land from president Mohamud, UK ambassador to Somalia Matt Baugh said he was delighted to receive the land.

The president on Tuesday received letter of credence from the new Australian ambassador to Somalia and urged other countries to open their diplomatic mission in Somalia.
