Government official killed in Mogadishu

Unknown gunmen on Thursday shot and killed a government official in Mogadishu’s Wadajir district, reports say.

Three gunmen armed with pistols reportedly attacked the official only identified as Burus at Jira Miskin neighbourhood, killing on the spot under unknown reasons.

The assailants immediately fled the scene of the incident before police officers arrived at the scene.

No group has claimed responsibility of the attack but suspicion is likely to fall on sympathisers of Al-Shabaab militant group who are known for such targeted killings in Mogadishu.
