US congratulates Somali parliament for electing permanent speaker.

The United States of America has welcomed and congratulated yesterday’s historic election of the permanent speaker of the new federal parliament of Somalia, Mohamed Sheikh Osman ali as Jawari.

In a press release to newsrooms,the U.S through U.S. Special Representative for Somalia, Ambassador James C. Swan congratulated Somalia’s traditional elders, members of the technical selection committee and interim Speaker Musa Hasan Abdule for their commitment to completing the transition process.

The US urged Speaker Jawari to organize elections for the next president without delay and enhance a rapid resolution through a consensual process of the few remaining nominations of MPs so that their communities may also participate in the legislature.

Moreover, Ambassador James welcomed the momentum that has brought an end to the transition and urged the Somali political leadership to work for the betterment of its people.
